2017 Klein Band Pit Pops
The Pit Pops are a group of band/color-guard dads (and some moms) dedicated to supporting Klein Band & Guard. We also have a number of parents whose children have graduated, but they still turn out for games and other activities to show support.
WE NEED YOU!
There are quite a bunch of us, and we always need more! Keeping our numbers large allows us the flexibility to miss events if needed. With a big group, someone is always available to help out.
WE HAVE COOL STUFF!
The Pit Pops are also in charge of the three trailers used to haul the band's instruments and equipment: a 24-foot tandem axle box trailer, a 53-foot semi-trailer, and a 16-foot tandem axle low boy. All are painted in school colors with large letters that proudly announce our arrival at every event. We also have a 6-wheel John Deer Gator to help us haul around ice chests and other items.
WE LIKE FOOTBALL GAMES AND BAND EVENTS!
Pit Pops attend all the football games and band competitions, helping the band move equipment like Drum Major stands, pit instruments, props, etc. Pit Pops also prepare and distribute cold drinks and generally assist the band and guard in getting on and off the field.
WE LIKE FOOD!
The famous Pit Pop Brisket Sale is our annual fundraiser that culminates right before the Super Bowl each year. We purchase brisket, sausage and ribs in bulk, get together for days to slow cook them on huge pits, and then people line up to take them home. What could be easier than that? You’ll find food is a key theme among the Pit Pops. We even “tailgate” prior to every home game.
WE LOOK GREAT!
The Pit Pops have custom-made hats and shirts that we wear to events and games. We look cool and we stay cool in our cool-tec shirts and hats.
We have lots of fun, the very best seats for every game and performance, and we’d love for you to join us!
